Security Guard Training

Based on the passage of SB 760, beginning June 1, 2024, the state of Maryland will require an individual seeking certification as a security guard to satisfactorily complete 12 hours of initial security training and individuals requesting renewal of security guard certification to satisfactorily complete 8 hours of continuing security training.  These training courses must be approved by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission.
Security Guard Applicants will be required to submit documentation of satisfactory completion of the mandatory security training with their original and renewal applications.
